Early versions had different LFO waveforms (and different oscillators) for vibrato and chorus.

There are at least three different revisions of the entire chorus/vibrato circuit, with different types of LFO and BBD driver arrangements so yes, one of them is probably quite close to CE-1 circuit while some of them are likely totally unidentical to it. And there are easily over 8 - 12 versions, just from 1979 to mid 1980’s alone some of them totally different from one another. Thanks Posts: 45 Joined:, 04:29 Has thanked: times Have thanks: times. So as it‘s done with the pedals, I think if I have pictures of both sides, I would be able to trace it so we could start a topic about this amp. I could find a schematic but I‘m just a begginer planning layouts so it‘s almost impossible for me to get a layout working properly without the problems of a bad designed one. I searched the forum but didn‘t find a topic. I would really appreciate to build myself a JC-120 and get that sound produced by this amp.

I googled a lot to try and find information about roland serial numbers but I didn't have. I also tried my orange, vintage Roland Cubes for acoustic amplifying, but found out that - though being the perfect fit for my single coil electrics - they are not just 'half a JC', but voiced differently, more Fender-like, which makes the acoustics' sound a bit too harsh for my ears.

Based on this serial number format my older Roland equipment is dated: Roland JP-4, serial number 135510, 5510th one made and manufactured in December 1981. Johann Guitars: Fender MIM Strats Amps: Sovtek Mig50, Fender HRD. I have the serial number, but I can't find where to look. Greetings, I know that this isn‘t the right place to post it but I don‘t want to bother you guys with another topic without replies.

I mean, sure, it's a lot heavier than a CE-1, but these are tough times that we have to deal with. A used CE-1 goes for 3/4th (or more) of the cost of a used JC-120, so if one could tweek a JC-120 (or JC-90, which i suspect uses the same chorus/vib circuit as the 120, whereas the JC-77 seems to be different) to have the same versatility as the CE-1, then I think it would be worth the effort. The CE-1 is stereo, as are dozens of other Boss pedals. Personally I'd leave the Amp as is and search for better ideas *Outside of the Amp.* Phil. *Teemu K* has much knowledge about these Amps, you may find him floating around at SS Guitar Forum. There are many models of JC and they are different. Phatt wrote:A boss pedal is MONO, meanwhile the JC Amps are Stereo.

Has anyone heard of a mod that makes the JC-120 chorus more adjustable? ~ Scott Posts: 2 Joined:, 22:23 Has thanked: 0 time Have thanks: 0 time.

I've done a few searches on JC-120 mods and have always come up empty. The Intensity control on the CE-1 seems to be some sort of lfo speed adjustment, and not just a wet/dry mix. It can't be EXACTLY the same though, because you can adjust the Intensity of the chorus effect on the CE-1 but on the JC-120 you can only adjust the speed and depth of the vibrato, and the chorus is set to one unchanging setting. I've heard from a few sources that the Boss CE-1 was more or less a direct transplant of the JC-120 chorus/vibrato circuit. I said 'Someone told me that Ben got with a really fat girl and he titty-****************ed her'. I wanted to say it when I got older (mostly because my friends would nag me about saying it), but I just didn't want to end the streak of not-saying it I ended up accidentally saying it to my girlfriend at the time.
